Uganda is a member of regional organizations such as the East African Community (EAC) and COMESA.Since President Museveni came to power in 1986, Uganda has adopted a policy of economic liberalization, encouraging foreign investment and business, and implementing free currency exchange and free movement of currency in and out of the country.

The country has been practicing free currency exchange and free entry and exit of currencies, as well as providing tax exemptions and reductions for technologically and technologically advanced industries.

As a result of these policies, Uganda’s economy has been growing at a fast pace and the business environment has been improving. In Africa, Solar energy is currently used primarily for off-grid electrification for rural communities, as well as for solar cooking, and providing water heating and power to public buildings, for example hospitals,Solar cooking also holds a significant potential in the country, with a large number of the population living in well-isolated areas, without access to energy services.

The Government of Uganda has made remarkable progress in recent years, with power sector reforms and other incentives to speed the rate of connections. This has led to an increase in the total installed power capacity to 1,250MV, a total which is expected to increase further with the completion of the Karuma Dam. This means that Uganda’s electricity sector has now shifted from having capacity shortages to having an excess of electricity supply, with this excess generation capacity envisaged to last until 2040.

The East African Community (EAC) is a regional international organization consisting of seven countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The purpose of EAC is to strengthen cooperation among member States in the economic, social, cultural, political, scientific and technological and diplomatic fields, to coordinate industrial development strategies, to jointly develop infrastructure, to achieve the sustainable economic and social development of member States, and to progressively establish a customs union, a common market, a monetary union and, ultimately, a political union. The East African Community became a geopolitical entity of 300 million people bordering the Indian Ocean to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
